DeepSeek peak and off-peak hours explained

DeepSeek bills the API by time of day. Peak hours are 01:00 – 04:00 UTC and 06:00 – 10:00 UTC, Monday to Friday. Every other hour — evenings, nights, and the whole weekend — is off-peak, and off-peak rates are half of the peak rates.

The windows are published in UTC, so the same instant decides the price for everyone while the clock on your wall reads differently. This tracker shifts the schedule into the timezone your browser reports: the status and the weekday schedule above follow your local clock, and the UTC reference is the raw source next to it.

The practical move is to batch whatever can wait. Long generations, backfills and evaluation runs are rarely urgent, so scheduling them outside the two peak windows halves what they cost without touching a line of code. DeepSeek also treats Chinese public holidays as off-peak all day; this tracker shows the standard weekday and weekend rule. Full rate card: DeepSeek API pricing.

What are DeepSeek's peak hours?

01:00 – 04:00 UTC and 06:00 – 10:00 UTC, Monday to Friday. All other hours are off-peak, including the entire weekend, and off-peak rates are half of the peak rates.

Are weekends off-peak?

Yes. Saturday and Sunday are off-peak all day, so a job scheduled for the weekend never touches a peak rate.

Why do the times here differ from the UTC table?

They should not — the two tables show the same two windows, one in your own timezone and one in UTC. Peak and off-peak is a UTC fact, so every visitor gets the same answer; only the clock labels change. If a window lands either side of local midnight it is shown as a single band such as 9:00 PM – 1:00 AM.
